The Sony XDS-PD1000 Professional Media Station with 1 TB internal hard disk drive (HDD) storage offers approximately 30 hours of recording with 50 Mbps clips. It provides up to up to 200 Mbps of bandwidth for file transfers and base band I/O operations. Equipped with Dual Channel Head System, the unit provides high-speed read-out and quad layer disc (128 GB) support. In addition, it also supports single-layer (23 GB) and dual-layer (50 GB) discs.

Using HD422 50 Mbps recording, the XDS-PD1000 Professional Media Station supports 1920 x 1080 and 1280 x 720 resolutions, and uncompressed 8-channel 24-bit /48 kHz linear PCM audio. It also supports all XDCAM and XDCAM EX file formats, codecs and metadata and protocols such as VDCP, FTP and CIFS. The media station is compatible with HD and SD signals, and offers up/down and cross-conversion system for operational flexibility.
