The Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race

HyperActive received a last-minute booking this weekend to come to the aid of CTV Outside Broadcasts, providing an EVS and Avid Media Composer Integration rig for the 2019 University Boat Race.

We installed two Avid Media Composer systems alongside EVS XTAccess and IPDirector hardware, helping CTV safely record the Cambridge crew’s second win in succession. The Light Blues crossed the line just two seconds ahead of Oxford, with an eight that included James Cracknell, 46, who’s doing a master’s in human evolution at Peterhouse. Cracknell is the oldest person ever to compete in the race by a full eight years.

Forty-five is the new 35, apparently – and we’re certainly not going to argue.
