The eighth episode of the eighth series of The Voice hit our screens last weekend for the first of the ‘Battle Rounds’. The Battles see coaches will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson, Tom Jones and Olly Murs return to their infamous red chairs as their acts go head to head for a place in the Knockouts.
The Voice is a BBC Studioworks production, filmed at its production hub in Elstree. The Voice team called on HyperActive to supply three XDCAM ChannelMAX XT3 production servers to cover the Battle Rounds, making sure the show’s five million viewers get their weekly fix of this year’s popstar wannabees.
The show just pipped the BBC’s Greatest Dancer in the battle of the ratings, but the most-watched programme that day was Wales’s triumph over England in the Six Nations. Painful for some, but certainly one of Wales’s greatest victories.
